Randolph-Macon Academy’s Technology department prides itself in providing a modern technology experience to our students and faculty. Our Apple 1:1 program issues a MacBook to every Student and Teacher. Students can access all needed software, websites, and school resources whether they’re in class, in their dorm, or in interior common areas of the campus thanks to our campus-wide WiFi deployment.
We have been able to seamlessly accommodate periods of remote learning in 2020 without interruption to students class schedules. Each learning area is equipped with 65” monitors that make learning interactive by allowing all students and teachers to share their screens to the entire class. Tech Support is available through e-mail or walk in hours at our campus, so students can receive prompt technical help and hardware replacements as needed to minimize interruptions to learning.

Internet Safety
Each Academy-owned laptop and desktop machine comes with Smoothwall Firewall and Content Filtering protection. Symantic Virus/Malware Protection software is also pre-installed.
TV Screens and Soundbars
TV screens are sized at 65″ combined with full-length soundbar. Each unit comes with an Apple TV HD unit, networked for connectivity, streaming and screen casting/mirroring capabilities.
Routine Maintenance
All students are asked to care for their MacBooks and stored away from food and drinks. Each machine is updated remotely by our IT Department for software convenience. At the end of each academic year, each machine is inspected either for future use or sent back to the factory in exchange for a new unit.
Tech Support
The IT Department is located on our campus, inside the MELL Innovation Lab in the Sonner-Payne building. Students may schedule an appointment to see an IT Tech Support Specialist, or can call or email their inquiries to Tech Support staff to receive assistance.
