Robotics is taught as an elective in the Middle School as part of the Visual and Performing Arts program. This course teaches students core computer programming logic and reasoning skills using a robotic engineering context tailored to bring the magic of robotics competition into the classroom. In the first semester, students will focus on using EV3 robots to prepare for the First LEGO Competition. Additionally, this course aims to teach students the programming and computational concepts using block-based and text-based programming. Coding infuses computational thinking that uses problem solving, communication, and personal expression to solve problems. Students will have opportunities to use 3D printers, OZOBOTS, drones, and much more.
