On Thursday, January 8, 2015, the Randolph-Macon Academy Middle School Boys' Basketball team defeated the Front Royal Flames 52-13 in a game that was never close. The Jackets jumped off to a 16-0 first quarter lead and extended the score to a 30-2 halftime deficit. Ten players saw equal time during the first half. Everyone got valuable playing experience during the second half.
The scoring for this game was as follows: Seventh-grader Michael Sumner led all scorers with 11 points; eighth-grader Jacob Karen threw in 8 points; seventh-grader Jonathan Bunker scored 7 points; sixth-grader Sidique Thomas-Sualley, eighth-graders Kota Ikemoto, Griffin Loper, and Stanley Richards all added 4 points; while eighth-graders Gary Feng, Gil Iphael, Ishmael Bobbitt, and Shawn Levitt each contributed with 2 points; and seventh-grader Bernard Kasozi completed the scoring with 2 points.
With this win the Jackets are 7-0 overall and 2-0 in the VMSC. Thanks for the support from parents, grandparents, siblings, faculty and staff, students, and Yellow Jacket fans. On Tuesday, January 13th, the Jackets host the Rappahannock County Panthers in a very important VMSC contest.
