The wrestling team traveled to Charlottesville on Thursday, December 3 for a quad match with Covenant, Charlottesville High School, and Virginia Episcopal School.
The Jackets were outmanned as we were giving up five weight classes (30 points per match) due to forfeits. In the end, the Jackets lost 47 – 27. The Yellow Jackets were able to defeat Covenant in four of the seven actual wrestling matches (21-17). Winning for the Jackets were Robert Farmer who had a pin for his first Varsity victory. At 145 Jacob Lee had an 8 -5 victory, at 152 Sean Bell had a third-period pin and Chris Khalil had a nice win via pin at 182 pounds.
In the second match, the Jackets faced off against Charlottesville High School and lost 45 – 24. Again half of Charlottesville's team points can via forfeit. Leading the way were So So Eke-Spiff and Joseph Leichsenring with first-period pins. Sean Bell pitched in with a win at 152 to help our cause.
The final match was against Virginia Episcopal and the Jackets were able to secure 28 – 6 victory. Again leading the way for R-MA were SoSo and Joey. Each had 1st period pins at 126 and 132 pounds.
