R-MA travelled to Highland expecting a very challenging game against one of the regular top teams in the DAC. However, we matched Highland stride for stride and the game was finely poised in the first half with Joseph Afotey-Agbo scoring on a breakaway for the Jackets, only for the goal to be disallowed for offsides. Highland benefited from a high bounce on the artificial playing surface to score five minutes before half-time and then quickly added a second.
In the second half, the Jackets scored within a few minutes of the restart through Somto Ogah. The score remained 1-2 until the final 10 minutes when we made an aggressive formation and tactical change to try to equalize. Unfortunately, Highland capitalized with two quick goals. R-MA never gave up and looked to have pulled a goal back in the dying seconds as Hung Nguyen raced onto a loose ball and chipped the keeper. It looked like the ball had crossed the line into the goal, but the keeper scooped the ball out and over the crossbar leaving the final score 1-4. In spite of the score, the Jackets know this was a tight game with very little between the teams.
