R-MA produced another complete performance in a 2-1 away win at Wakefield Country Day School (WCDS).
Edwin Ikhinmwin ’17 scored a scorcher from 30 yards and Samson Jiya ’18 teed up Timmy Fajembola ’17 for a tap-in to give the Jackets a 2-0 first half lead. Fajembola ‘17 also had two further goals ruled off-side in the first half.
In the second half, R-MA continued to control the game, but WCDS scored late despite keeper Cailen Baggett ’18 having pushed the ball wide with what looked like an excellent save, only for it to hit a grassy bump and spin back into the net.
The goal set up a frantic finale, but the Jackets remained resolute and could have won by more goals if not for solid goalkeeping at the other end.
