The Golf Team’s Last Swing at the Regular Season

On May 5th, the R-MA varsity golf team traveled  to Fredericksburg, Virginia, to play their last regular season match against the  Wakefield School and Fredericksburg Christian at Lee's Hill Golf Club. The weather was overcast and cool, but they were able to complete the match. The Jackets were under-manned due to academic responsibilities, but were able to be competitive with only four golfers. The Jackets were defeated by both Wakefield and Fredericksburg, but finished the regular season 11-3-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the DAC. Due to the inclement weather they only played Trinity and St. Michaels once this season.

The R-MA team scored a respectable 142, but were not close to Wakefield who shot a good 126 and Fredericksburg who finished with a 136. Leading the way for the Jackets was Joey Monastero who shot a 43. Thomas Minchew shot a respectable 47, and Joseph Silek and Ian Mounts shot 52 and 54 respectively.  

The DAC Tournament will be held at Jackson's Chase Golf Club on Thursday, May 12th, starting at 3:00 pm. The schools competing will be Fredericksburg Christian, Highland, Randolph-Macon, Trinity, and Wakefield.
