CALLING ALL CHESS LOVERS!
It is the pleasure of Randolph-Macon Academy to invite you to the first Shenandoah Valley Chess Tournament!
We know that many people in our area share a love for the strategy of this distinguished sport, and it is our hope that this tournament will provide a time of friendly competition and a chance for chess lovers to get to know each other. This tournament is open to all public and private schools in the area. Awards include cash prizes and award certificates signed by the R-MA president, Major General Henry M. Hobgood. Adding to the prestige and excitement of this tournament, competitors will have the opportunity to play against chess master Yangboya Liu. Yangboya is a senior at R-MA and is capable of playing up to fifty games at one time!
The event will be on the 26th of March, 2013, at 4pm in the middle school cafeteria. Refreshments will be available. Please see the attached flyer and registration form for entry fees and additional details.
This will be an exciting time for the local schools to come together for a chance to celebrate the skill of chess and to have a fun time. We hope you will join us!
