On Friday, December 4, the Randolph-Macon Academy Middle School Boys' Basketball team played its first game of the 2015-2016 season at home against Highland school from Warrenton, Virginia. The Highland team was big, fast, and well-coached. The first quarter was tied 11-11 with some good offensive and defensive plays by both teams. The second quarter saw Michael Sumner get hot scoring 12 points in the six minute frame. At the half the Jackets were leading 25-18. The second half defensive adjustments made the scoring more difficult for both teams. The young Jackets could only score 5 points during the third quarter and led 30-24. The fourth quarter was back and forth with Highland outscoring the Jackets after Michael Sumner fouled out with two and a half minutes remaining. The Jackets were able to hold off the Hawks attack and the final score was R-MA 34 and Highland 33.
