R-MA Football Dominant in Waynesboro

This past Friday witnessed a rainfall of biblical proportions as the R-MA football team faced Fishburne Military School (FMS) in Waynesboro, Virginia.  R-MA’s performance reflected that of the weather: it was persistent, tenacious, and dominant.

The Yellow Jacket defense thoroughly handled FMS’s inverted wishbone offense and allowed them to cross the 50 yard-line just one time.  From the defensive line to the free safety, every player was flying to the ball and getting in on the action.

The R-MA offense had not taken the field before the Yellow Jackets were on the scoreboard due to a punt return touchdown from strong safety Alex Ndongo-Seh ’17.  Quarterback Corban Ruch ’17 and his offense had trouble running their spread formation under the torrential downpour, but the elements did not stop them from scoring two touchdowns before half time. Ruch ran one in for six and threw one to a wide open Ndongo-Seh.

After 24 minutes of football, the field was too soft and muddy to continue gameplay without putting the players at significant risk.  The contest was called at halftime and R-MA walked away with a 21-0 victory in a dominant performance.

The Yellow Jackets hope to improve to 4-1 this Saturday as they take on Fredericksburg Christian School for their final away game of the regular season.
