Once again the young Jackets were able to start the game with a sizable lead that allowed everyone to get playing time during the first half. At halftime the score was R-MA 22 and Powhatan 14. The team was able to score at will during the third quarter and the bench was emptied early in the period. The final score was R-MA 53 and the Powhatan Chiefs 27. Leading the way for the Jackets were seventh-grader Michael Sumner and eighth-grader Stanley Richards with 16 points each. Sixth-grader point guard Sidique Thomas-Sualley threw in 5 points and eighth-graders Kota Ikemoto and Gary Feng each contributed 4 points. Completing the scoring for R-MA were eighth-graders Ishmael Bobbitt with 3 points, Gil Iphael and Ian Mounts each with 2 points. Jacob Karen hit a free throw to complete the R-MA scoring.
