MS Boys Basketball Win at Powhatan

 On Thursday evening the R-MA Middle School Boys' Basketball team won an impressive contest on the road at the Powhatan School. Once again the young Jackets were able to start the game with a sizable lead that allowed everyone to get playing time during the first half. At halftime the score was R-MA 22 and Powhatan 14. The team was able to score at will during the third quarter and the bench was emptied early in the period. The final score was R-MA 53 and the Powhatan Chiefs 27. Leading the way for the Jackets were seventh-grader Michael Sumner and eighth-grader Stanley Richards with 16 points each. Sixth-grader point guard Sidique Thomas-Sualley threw in 5 points and eighth-graders Kota Ikemoto and Gary Feng each contributed 4 points. Completing the scoring for R-MA were eighth-graders Ishmael Bobbitt with 3 points, Gil Iphael and Ian Mounts each with 2 points. Jacob Karen hit a free throw to complete the R-MA scoring.

 On Friday the Yellow Jackets will host Fresta Valley in a VMSC contest. The girls game starts at 4:30 with the boys' contest to follow. Come out and support your R-MA teams.
