Last night the Lady Jackets traveled to Mountain View Christian Academy for an exciting evening of volleyball.
In the first set we came out strong, laying as a team and having fun with it. Haley Clingerman ’21 led her team with five serving points. Lily Grossman ’21 added three points and one ace, Jessalyn Brooks ’21 added two points and Jotrina Vamboi ’21 added two herself, one of them also being an ace. The ladies played wonderful defense and ended up winning the first set 25-20.
The ladies played even better defense in the second set. They showed ball control and were communicating well with each other. On offense, Grossman served five points with two of them being aces. Brooks and Clingerman each added two points and Ameera Anderson-Dade ’23 also added a point for the team. We came up short in this set and fell 25-20.
In the third set the ladies were determined to get the win. They communicated well with each other, played amazing defense and had a wonderful show from Brooks as she served five points for her team. Clingerman and Vamboi each served two points with Vamboi serving one ace. Destinee Thomas '21 also added one point in order for the Lady Jackets to take the third game with a score of 15-12.
I am so proud of these girls for playing so well together and they should be proud of themselves for the wonderful sportsmanship that they displayed. We travel again tomorrow to Wakefield Country Day School and hope to come home with another win.
