Middle School Volleyball Tallies Another Win

Two nights ago the Lady Jackets traveled to St. Joe’s for an exciting and close match.

In the first set Haley Clingerman ’21 led her team with four serving points. Jessalyn Brooks ’21 and Lily Grossman ’21 both served three points with one of Brooks’ being an ace. Jotrina Vamboi ’21 and Destinee Thomas ’21 each served one point. The ladies displayed wonderful defense and kept the first set close right up to the end when St. Joe’s took the lead and the win. The score was 25-19.

In the second set the Lady Jackets were determined to fight for every point. Clingerman led her team again with four points, two of them having been aces. Brooks added three points, Grossman added two with one being an ace and Vamboi and Thomas both added a point. It was a battle all the way through, but the Lady Jackets ended up losing 25-18.

In the third set they did a lot of experimenting with their serves. The ladies have been working on their over hand serves in practice, and kept them out of the game until now. They decided that it was time to execute them in a real game situation.

Their performance was impressive. Brooks served five points in a row while serving overhand. Vamboi served three points with her overhand with one of them being an ace. Caity served two points for her team while Lily served one point with an overhand jump serve.

The ladies had so much fun and ended up winning the match 25-23. It was a great showing and they were so proud of themselves for their efforts, as was I. Thanks ladies for a very exciting and entertaining night of volleyball.
