Today the Lady Jackets hosted the Owls from Wakefield Country Day School and came out ready to play in the first set. Every player on the team scored serving points during this set. Peyton Kaufman ‘23 led the team with 6 points including an ace. Chidera Anyanwu ’22 added 5 points with three of them being aces. Sarah Starling ’24 added 4 points with one ace and Elianne Gihozo ‘22 added three points. Ameera Anderson-Dade ’23 and Chichi Ogbuebile ’23 each served one point. Not only was the serving on point, the defense was amazing. Chidera led her team with two kills. The Lady Jackets won the set 25-11.
In the second set they continued to serve well and played great defense. They had some amazing volleys and great saves. Elianne led her team with an impressive 6 points with 3 of them being aces. Ameera added 3 points with Peyton adding 1. It was a well-played game by both teams and the Lady Jackets came up short, losing 25-20.
They struggled to serve in the third set and only two points were earned through serving from Sarah Starling. On defense, Chidera and Chichi both had two kills during the game. Again, they played hard and were making exceptional plays, but ended up losing 15-6.
