On Tuesday the team traveled to Wakefield Country Day School to play the Owls in a VMSC contest. The team started slowly and missed easy shots during the first quarter. At halftime the Jackets had gathered momentum and the first and second teams had received playing time. At the end of the second quarter R-MA was leading 23-0. The second and third teams were able to play the third and fourth quarters and the final was 34-11.
For the young Jackets eighth-grader Stanley Richards led all scorers with 12 points. Seventh-grader Michael Sumner added 7 points and seventh-grader Jonathan Bunker threw in 5 points. Eighth-grader Jacob Karen scored 4 points. Sixth-grader Sidique Thomas-Sualley and eighth-graders Shawn Levitt and Kota Ikemoto scored 2 points each.
With this win the Jackets are now 9-1 overall and 4-1 in the VMSC. The R-MA team will host Quantico on Thursday immediately following the girls' game at 4:30.
