Middle School Boys’ Basketball Victorious Over Riverfront Christian

On Tuesday, the Middle School Boys' Basketball team defeated the Riverfront Christian Rams by the score of 39-17. The Jackets had not played in five days and the rest seemed to help as the R-MA team jumped to a 17-0 first period lead. The second and third units were able to play the second quarter and at halftime the score was 23-3. The third quarter saw the most scoring by both teams and after three periods the score was 35-11. Once again the second and third units were able to play half of the third and all of the fourth quarter.

The top scorer in the game for the Jackets was eighth-grader Stanley Richards who scored 8 points. Eighth-graders Kota Ikemoto and Jacob Karen both threw in 6 points. Eighth-graders Gil Iphael and Gary Feng contributed 4 points each. Sixth-grader Sidique Thomas-Sualley shot one time and scored a three-pointer to start the third quarter. Eighth-graders Griffin Loper, Ishmael Bobbitt, and Shawn Levitt added 2 points each along with seventh-grader Bernard Kasozi.

With this win the Yellow Jackets season stands at 12-2 overall and 6-2 in the VMSC. On Thursday the Jackets will host Legacy Christian Academy in a make up game. The boys' team will play after the girls' game at 4:30. Thanks to the parents, grandparents, family, friends, and fans for coming out to watch your Jackets.
