Our Pre-Professional Pathways Program was built to support the diverse interests of our student body, and to give them a way to take that passion to the next level. The Pre-Professional Pathways allow students passionate about a subject area to dive deeper into a potential career interest.
For students with an interest in the aviation industry, our Aviation Pathway helps them get a headstart in furthering their education in the field and discover potential careers in aviation. The Global Entrepreneurship Pathway is there for students who are passionate about identifying challenges and needs around the world and innovative ways to solve them. Our High Flight Pathway is the perfect choice for students hoping to compete for service academy appointments and pursue a military career. The Software and Engineering Pathway prepares students to become critical thinkers and creators of next-generation technologies.

As an advanced academic initiative, our Pre-Professional Pathways Program relies on high-quality instruction and state-of-the-art facilities.
Each Pathway offers experiential learning opportunities, mentorship with faculty leaders of the program, and a capstone project of the student’s choice. The hands-on experience and personalized attention that students receive takes their learning to the next level. For example, students in the Aviation Pathway enjoy flying lessons in our aircraft, industry guest speakers, internship opportunities, and field research using unmanned aerial systems. Likewise, our Global Entrepreneurship Pathway offers access to the Shenandoah University Business Symposium, “Shark Tank” like competitions, and networking opportunities through business visits.
With access to such resources, students gain an advanced understanding of their chosen subject, giving them a competitive edge in the field.
