Falcon Foundation Trustees Honor Scholars

On Wednesday, September 9, 2015, Randolph-Macon Academy welcomed Falcon Foundation Trustees Lt Gen Jay Kelley, USAF, Retired; Lt Gen John Fairfield, USAF, Retired; Mr. Dan Twomey, Rhodes Scholar; Lt Gen John Hopper, USAF, Retired; and Brig Gen Janet Therianos, USAF, Retired (pictured back row, left to right). The five Trustees visited campus to present Falcon Foundation Scholarships to Randolph-Macon Academy’s five Falcon Scholars for the 2015-16 school year: James Rutledge-Gorman, Leah Hall, Victorian Nojaim, Taylor M. Howe, and Joseph Alter (pictured left to right, front row).

Selected by the U.S. Air Force Academy, Falcon Scholars receive scholarships from the Falcon Foundation to attend one of seven prep schools in the U.S. to complete a postgraduate year of study. These scholars re-apply to the Air Force Academy during that year, and approximately 96% of them will be accepted. Thus far, 100% of the Falcon Scholars attending Randolph-Macon Academy, which began in the program in the fall of 2012, have received Air Force Academy appointments.
