The R-MA Cross Country teams hosted the second DAC meet on Tuesday. The weather took its toll on all of the runners with a temperature of 92 degrees and lots of humidity. The boys' team continued to hold on to their 6th place position just slightly behind the 5th place team. Ben Kopjanski continues to be the number one runner for R-MA, and moved up in the overall rankings to 18th place. He is just three places away from becoming an All-District runner. Lawrence Carvana had the biggest change in his time as he dropped a minute and a half and moved into the number two position on the team. He placed 21st and moved up 8 places. James Ross finished in the number three position and Emmett Jouet finished in the number four position.
The girls' team continued in the 5th place position and closed the gap between them and the 4th place team to 13 points. Sam Bai broke into the top 10 runners this week as the number one runner for R-MA. Sam improved her district ranking by four places from the last DAC race. Cecelia Paredes finished just outside the top 10 in 11th place. Cecelia also improved her district ranking by four places. Cat Thomas and Quinlin Bruhn continue to improve and moved up in the district rankings by nine and eight places to help the team inch closer to the fourth place team.
