Tuesday, October 21, 2014, Colleges That Change Lives Event. Randolph-Macon Academy (R-MA) will be hosting a Colleges That Change Lives information session on Tuesday, October 21st at 3:00 p.m. in Boggs Chapel. Since 1998, CTCL has been hosting information sessions and college fairs nationwide. Maria Furtado, CTCL, Inc. Executive Director, will discuss author Loren Pope's ideals about how the criteria many college bound students use, such as name recognition and prestige, do not acknowledge the importance of understanding an individual student's needs and how they must "fit" with the mission and identity of the college community that they choose. R-MA students were required to read the book College That Change Lives this past summer. Students and parents in the community are invited to attend this free event.
