The varsity soccer team made a blistering start to their season preparation. They stormed into a two goal lead in the first ten minutes of a non-conference game against a spirited Chelsea Academy. Goals from Lucas Costa '17 and Samson Jiya '19 gave the Yellow Jackets the start they had hoped for.
The Yellow Jackets dominated possession and bossed most of the game, but fell victim to two set pieces against the run of play that evened the score at 2-2 by half-time. In the second half R-MA continued to dominate for much of the game, hitting the crossbar and the post, with only some excellent goalkeeping standing in their way.
The match finished 2-2 and was the perfect preparation for the regular season against a team that had already played five games with a winning record that included two 5 goal victories against oppositions R-MA will face in the coming games. Everything is shaping up for an exciting season ahead.
