Senior Peter Blair is well-known around Randolph-Macon Academy’s campus. One aspect that contributes to his popularity besides his all-around positive attitude is his heavy participation in sports. Blair plays three sports throughout the year: football, basketball, and lacrosse. While he excels in all, football and lacrosse are his two favorites.
This year marks Blair’s fifth season playing football. Blair previously played in elementary school before becoming part of R-MA’s team his sophomore year. He has served as a quarterback and wide receiver for the Yellow Jackets. Blair’s favorite aspect of the sport is practice after school, “I love going out to the field and practicing. During practice I am able to forget all of the problems of the day and just focus on my teammates and the game.”
One of Blair’s favorite moments of his high school football career came last year in a game against Hargrave Military Academy. The game was extremely close in score up to the fourth quarter. The Yellow Jackets were able to pull ahead for the win. Blair describes the game as the perfect “comeback game." Making the game extra special was the live streaming allowing Blair’s mother to watch at home.
Next year Blair hopes to attend the University of Maryland majoring in aerospace engineering. In his free time, Blair hopes to play club lacrosse in college.
