Last Friday the varsity soccer team showed just how far they have come this season as they pushed regular season champions Highland all the way in a tense game.
R-MA opened the scoring with a goal from Samson Jiya ‘18, only for Highland to take advantage of some slack defending and claim three first-half goals.
R-MA started the second half strong and quickly pulled back one goal through Timmy Fajembola ‘17 and dominated possession. Highland racked up one yellow card after another and a red card due to unsportmanlike conduct as the Jackets were about to break through.
The Jackets continued to dominate and pushed everyone up for the last kick, including the keeper, as Highland cleared the ball and scored on the counter for a flattering 4-2 victory.
