Students at our prep school have much to be proud of by the time their graduation comes at the end of 12th grade. Randolph-Macon Academy helps students excel through a focus on personal development. As students complete their academics with plenty of support, they also participate in several programs that help to boost their life skills and build strong values.
When it comes time to apply to colleges, students can showcase all of the accomplishments they’ve achieved during their time at R-MA. 1. Advanced Placement Course Accomplishments
Advanced Placement courses are an asset on a college resume, showing students’ dedication to their education and the commitment they exhibited throughout their high school years toward higher education. Advanced Placement courses are rigorous and express a student’s willingness to work hard and their ability to succeed in college-level courses. Proving to universities around the country that they are ready to take on the workload and commitment necessary to excel in college-level courses and jump into the next stage of their education. R-MA offers 17+ Advanced Placement courses, allowing students to opt into the courses that make the most sense for their passions and interests.
2. Extracurricular Involvement Throughout Prep School
Extracurriculars are a big part of our prep school, encouraging students to immerse themselves into our community on campus and beyond. More than 8,000 hours of community service are completed by R-MA students each year, and these hours serve an important role in any college application. Through extracurriculars, students showcase their dedication to causes bigger than themselves. On top of community service, students can join on-campus clubs and sports teams that constantly place them in situations where they can improve their communication, collaboration, and leadership skills through their teamwork with other students.
3. Pre-Professional Pathways Completed
Pre-professional pathways are another option for students looking to enhance their college resumes. These were created to allow them to explore their future career options in a supportive environment that exposes them to the field. Gaining a solid foundation in their field of interest, students also acquire a competitive edge against their peers from other high schools who don’t have access to these advanced and specialized programs. During their senior year, students complete a Capstone Project that sets them up for their future college studies and showcases everything they learned during their pathway.
4. Unique Interests Explored While at R-MA
As a college preparatory school, R-MA truly caters to the individuality and uniqueness of each student, giving them space to thrive in their strengths. Students interested in furthering their education at a Service Academy can boost their chances of gaining acceptance by joining the Air Force JROTC program at R-MA. Alternatively, if students are keener to pursue an education in computer science, they can earn high school credits in the field of study before going to college. R-MA allows students to explore their passions while creating a foundational education that sets them up for success in their futures and sets them apart from other college applicants.
