3 Ways You Help Uphold Our Community Values When You Donate to R-MA

The superior college prep curriculum found at Randolph-Macon Academy is accompanied by a profound sense of community. This effect is felt campus-wide, as students spend each day becoming more and more unified as a student body. Both our academic and residential curricula aim to instill values of accountability, teamwork, character, structure, and grit. R-MA students know how to step up to the plate when a classmate is in need of support, and they know how to push one another when it’s time to prove their own potential.

Our alumni serve as the highest role models of this sense of community. Throughout their time at R-MA, they dedicate their efforts to ensuring that not only their own goals are met, but also those of their classmates. They go on to reflect these attributes throughout university and their professional careers, always sticking to their roots and making sure everyone around them feels valued. Continue reading to discover how R-MA continues to uphold these community values, and how alumni can help.

Support R-MA Initiatives for an Inclusive and Mutually Supportive Experience

R-MA proudly embraces a spirit of inclusivity. This is brought about through our co-ed program that has included a vibrant international student body for decades and continues to do so. With students from around the world, each individual learns how to best support one another, no matter where they come from.

When you support R-MA, you ensure that our private academy continues to offer the type of life-changing opportunities to current and future students that our alumni experienced themselves. When current students see the unity presented by alumni, they understand just how far their relationships can take them as they lift one another up.

Encourage Collaboration and Teamwork

Throughout their time on The Hill, R-MA students are given the opportunity to collaborate with their classmates. Keeping an open mind while enjoying a safe and supportive environment, students are able to freely express themselves. This helps foster continued engagement and teamwork as they all come together to learn, inquire about the world around them, and find solutions.

Students expand on this sense of community outside the classroom as well, growing an inspiring sense of school spirit. Through athletics and intramurals, student clubs, and honor societies, as well as community service projects and Cadre leadership training, they learn quickly that seamless collaboration helps them reach their goals. While helping each other, they begin to realize the value of their team.

Show Students How to Commit to Collective Success

Looking to alumni for inspiration, students at R-MA begin to see how their collaboration can serve their futures. R-MA alumni who stay connected and involved after graduation contribute to the constant promotion of the values that we hold so closely. The power of community is so strong, and knowing that current students have the support of former students means the world to them.

Seeing the successes of those that walked before them inspires current students to work toward collective achievements. Trust and respect–both qualities expected of every R-MA student–allow students to prioritize seeking the betterment of others. Through these mutually beneficial relationships, they learn skills that help carry them through their university and professional endeavors.
