Middle school students at R-MA benefit from a vibrant learning environment that offers a wide range of fun and engaging extracurricular activities. Here, students have the ability to explore their interests and pursue their passions through various student clubs—developing new skill sets and gaining new experiences that allow them to accelerate their personal and academic growth.
As a middle school student on our campus, you’ll gain access to a supportive community that can help you reach your goals and make the most of your time in our student clubs. You’ll be able to dive into some of your favorite subjects and try new ones alongside the guidance of caring teachers and the encouragement of like-minded peers. Here are some clubs you can consider joining as an R-MA middle school student!
Discover Your Potential at Our Student Council Association
R-MA’s Student Council Association (SCA) is a great place for you to learn practical skills, enabling you to gain firsthand experience that allows you to better communicate with others and manage group projects. The SCA focuses on school events and fundraisers. This means organizing dances, field days, and other activities that occur throughout the academic year.
By joining the SCA, you can show future universities that you have initiative and practical leadership skills. You can also use this time to hone your people skills, learn to effectively manage teams and projects, and grow into a leadership position—all while creating meaningful memories with your friends. In this way, becoming an SCA member at our private middle school creates opportunities for you to explore your potential and make an impact within your class.
Pursue Your Passion at Our Private Middle School Flight Club
Middle school students with an interest in aviation can join our school’s hands-on Flight Club. In fact, nearly one-third of our middle school student body participates in the club each year. Here, you’ll get the chance to learn pilot vocabulary, operate the flight simulator, and fly in R-MA’s own Cessna airplanes. The club meets one day a month for the duration of the year with a schedule designed to avoid conflicts with other clubs on campus.
R-MA’s Aviation Program is only open to high school students, offering both flight and drone instruction. However, by joining this middle school student club, you can get an early start and build your skills—boosting your confidence and positioning yourself for greater success. With this foundation, you can feel more prepared to join our preparatory school’s Flight program at the secondary level and explore new prospects in an exciting field.
Give Back to the Community by Joining Our Interact Club
If you’re looking to give back to your community, then our Interact Club is a great place to start. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Front Royal, this service-oriented club enables its members to perform community service. Here, you’ll be able to raise money for important causes in both local and international communities.
In this club, Service Above Self is a key principle. You’ll learn to live by the Four-Way Test, which encourages you to assess whether what we think, say, or do is the Truth, is Fair to all, contributes to Goodwill and Better Friendships, and is Beneficial to all concerned. By working alongside your peers under these guidelines, you’ll have the chance to gain new and fun experiences that broaden your perspective, help you develop leadership and interpersonal skills, and make an impact in your community.
