Every cadet at R-MA is assigned to a faculty or staff mentor, who provides the cadet with guidance and support throughout the school year.
The mentor functions as the contact person for the family, with any questions or concerns that arise, while the cadet is at the Academy. The mentor also serves as an advocate for cadets on campus and will work to coordinate with cadets, families, and teachers to support their mentee’s academic and social achievement.
Mentors meet with their mentees twice a week for 20-minute mentoring sessions. Additionally, mentors may take Cadets off campus for lunch or dinner once or twice a year. Beyond the scheduled times for check-in, mentors work with the Cadets to help them choose classes for the upcoming year, support them in their college application process, and guide and support them in their journey as a cadet at R-MA.
