Although R-MA's Upper School is a military college-prep boarding school, you will find that the emphasis is on preparing students for college, and our daily schedule reflects that committment. In 2018, the Academy moved to four days of 80-minute classes and one day of 45-minute periods, to allow for more project-based learning that will encourage cooperative, creative thought.
Part of R-MA's objective is to help students develop time management skills and learn how to prioritize responsibilities. To help facilitate that, the study hall periods in the evenings are 90 minutes, and students can expect to need additional time to complete their studies. They may use their tutorial times, evening free time, and weekends as needed.
Below is a look at the typical day at R-MA. On the weekends student rise at 10:15 a.m. and are required to attend brunch at 11:00 a.m. After that they may go on town leave or on one of the school-sponspored weekend trips. Lights out are 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Students who go home on the weekends must be signed in by 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening.
