Zhirui is an international student at Randolph-Macon Academy, a U.S. boarding school located in Virginia, only 70 miles from Washington, DC.

Hometown: Beijing, China.

Activities: Drama productions, Interact Club, CIA (Cadets In Action) Club, Academy's Own Recruitment Team, National Honor Society, German National Honor Society, English National Honor Society, Praise Band, Stingers (R-MA's a cappella group), District Chorus.

Honors: President's List every quarter, National German Exam Gold Medal, Honors Algebra II Student of the Year, German II Student of the Year, Theatre Journey Award.

Cadre position for 2019-2020: Deputy Logistic Officer (C/Capt).

If you could tell someone one reason to come to R-MA, what would it be? As an international boarding student, I have a sense of family and home given by my friends and teachers here.

What is the biggest benefit you are getting from R-MA? I have become more self-disciplined because of the military element in R-MA.

What is your favorite R-MA class and why? Chorus. I like music and I enjoy singing at the band room where I can forget all worries at school. (Our chorus teacher, Mr. DeMato, is nice!)

What is your favorite meal at R-MA? The special meals on Fridays.

What is your favorite place in Front Royal? Royal Cinemas.

What is your favorite community service project? Rise Against Hunger.
