Fair, firm, and consistent. That is the creed of R-MA’s new Director of Student Life, Todd Davis. As a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy, Mr. Davis is very familiar with the military boarding school environment.
Mr. Davis received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. He then began working for Marion Matters, a healthcare recruitment advertising company where he met his wife, Christina. After Marion Matters, Mr. Davis decided to returned to his alma mater of Valley Forge Military Academy to pursue a new career path.
After working in admissions and as a TAC (Teaching, Advising, and Counseling) officer, Mr. Davis was promoted to Deputy Commandant of Training. In this position, he was responsible for the planning, coordination, executions and oversight of all daily operations and dorms. In 2017, he accepted the Director of Student Life position at Randolph-Macon Academy.
“R-MA is not Valley Forge Military Academy, and so my approach is a little different here,” said Davis. “But continuity and consistency in all the dorms is crucial for student-life, that’s what I aim to maintain here at R-MA.”
The opportunity to inspire students is what keeps Mr. Davis working in the educational environment. “As a graduate from a military academy program, I understand first-hand how important it is to develop the whole person at a young age,” he said. “Having the opportunity to help the youth understand and embrace that opportunity and to discover their full potential in life is what I enjoy most about my job.”
Mr. Davis lives with his wife, Christina, and two children, Gianna and AJ. When he is not busy here on The Hill, he can be found at his house cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
