Middle School Soccer
The R-MA Middle School Soccer team took on Chelsea Academy in an away game on Monday, September 23. Chelsea Academy scored 3 goals before halftime. The Yellow Jackets fought back in the second half scoring a penalty kick, but lost 5-1. The team dropped to 2-2 on the season and 2-1 in the VMSC.

With the upcoming addition of J-Term classes and a major renovation taking place this summer in the Garth Payne ’34 and Helen Cooper Payne Library that will support the addition of another Pre-Professional Pathway (PPP), the R-MA academic program is not just moving forward, it’s skyrocketing upwards.

R-MA travelled to Highland expecting a very challenging game against one of the regular top teams in the DAC. However, we matched Highland stride for stride and the game was finely poised in the first half with Joseph Afotey-Agbo scoring on a breakaway for the Jackets, only for the goal to be disallowed for offsides. Highland benefited from a high bounce on the artificial playing surface to score five minutes before half-time and then quickly added a second.

The R-MA Middle School Soccer team played its second of back-to-back games on Friday, September 20 against Front Royal Christian School. The Yellow Jackets got off to a great start, taking a 4-0 lead into halftime. The Yellow Jackets built on their lead with two more goals in the second half. Two of the Yellow Jackets players scored hat tricks! The game ended 6-1 with the Warriors scoring in the closing minute of the game. The Yellow Jackets are now 2-1 on the season and 2-0 in the VMSC.
