R-MA played a tough away game against Fredericksburg Academy (FA) this past Tuesday. The players took the game to the home team from the first whistle and could have scored a hat full of goals after early domination.
FA slowly started to get into the game at the halfway point of the first half and scored two goals in quick succession from set pieces. Another goal was added shortly before half time that gave FA a flattering 3-0 score line.
In the second half the pattern was much the same with R-MA dominating for the opening 20 minutes and a brave keeper shutting us out. After pushing hard to get back into the game, FA scored on a counter and then added two more late in the game as we rotated the squad for playing time and experience.
A 6-0 score line does not reflect what was a tight game for much of the contest and leaves the Jackets with many positives moving forward as well as areas to tighten up.
