The First Few Weeks at Military School

There are often questions about what the first few weeks at a military school are like, and it is a question worth exploring. Different military schools have different philosophies. At some, students have to earn the right to be called a cadet, and they might spend the first few weeks with limited privileges or having to do extra physical training. At Randolph-Macon Academy, a student who is new to the Upper School is a full-fledged cadet with the same rights and privileges as returning students. There are fun activities for camaraderie and bonding. For this episode of The Buzz, host Celeste Brooks talks with R-MA Aerospace Science Instructor Chief Master Sergeant Matthew Lusson, USAF, Retired, and Cecilia Paredes '22, to find out more about what families can expect from the first few weeks at this college prep military school.
