Residential Life Hosts Inaugural Table Tennis Challenge

 

Randolph-Macon Academy Upper School is currently hosting its Inaugural Table Tennis Challenge. After holding sign-ups for several weeks, the 27 students—15 boys and 12 girls—began the initial rounds of competition, with each match consisting of up to three games. Each game goes to 15 points, with a 2-point margin being necessary for victory. The first player to win two of the three games is the winner of that match.The Residential Life program at R-MA is hosting the first Table Tennis Tournament for the students.

These initial elimination rounds will continue until only four players—two male and two female—remain for the Championship Match, to be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 during 8th period in Melton Memorial Gymnasium.

The prizes for the male and female champions will be a trophy, $25 in cash, a $25 Target gift card, and a $20 iTunes card. The runners-up will receive $15 in cash, a $20 Target gift card, and a $10 iTunes card.

The Table Tennis Challenge is hosted and supported by the Residential Life Department.

Randolph-Macon Academy (R-MA), founded in 1892, is a college-preparatory, coeducational boarding school for students in grades 6 through 12.  Students in grades 9-12 participate in R-MA’s 91st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC).  R-MA is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is located in Front Royal, VA.
