On Thursday, May 1, the R-MA varsity golf team won a quad-match against Trinity, Fredericksburg Christian Academy, and St. Michaels. The Yellow Jackets played well after six days of rest due to the weather. The scores in three man format were: R-MA 140, Trinity 142, FCS 159, and St. Michaels 199. The four man format looked like this: R-MA 194, Trinity 201, FCS 219, and St. Michaels 271.
Leading the way for the Jackets was senior Bill Choi who shot a 41, sophomore Tommy Yu scoring a 49, senior Jake Ko tallying a 50, and James Christoph with a 54. For Trinity Phillip Andrukonis posted a 40, Jackson Miller shot a 50, Kyle Brown a 52, and Ethan Chun a 59. Fredericksburg Christian Academy had Kurt Karpin with a 48, Creighton Hostelka with a 54, Hunter Wisenberg shooting a 57, and Houston Erving posting a 60. St. Michaels scorers were Bianica Cietta with a 65, Emma Giabalbo 65, Pat Wilson with a 69, and three players with 72.
On Tuesday, May 6, the Jackets will travel to Creighton Farms to play Middleburg Academy and Fredericksburg Christian Academy. On Wednesday, May 7, R-MA will host the Wakefield School in the Plains at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club starting at 4:00.
