Randolph-Macon Academy faculty and staff kicked off the year with the Annual Awards Banquet held at the Holiday Inn at Blue Ridge Shadows in Front Royal, VA.
The Faculty of the Year for the 2012-13 school year was Joshua Ilnicki. Ilnicki teaches science at Randolph-Macon Academy Middle School. He is the assistant coach for both middle school girls’ volleyball and middle school girls’ basketball, and the head coach of the middle school track team at Randolph-Macon. | |
The Mentor of the Year was Bill Curl, who teaches English at Randolph-Macon Academy’s middle school. He is the head coach of the varsity golf team and the middle school boys’ basketball team. In addition, Curl is a 1966 graduate of Randolph-Macon Academy. | |
The Randolph-Macon Varsity Girls’ Soccer Team Head Coach, Brandy Hudson, was named Coach of the Year for the 2012-13 school year. Hudson is also the assistant athletic director at the school. | |
Randolph-Macon’s Employee of the Year award went to Karen Moxie, who was also honored for completing 35 years of service at the school. Moxie is the director of student services at the Academy. | |
The Team of the Year for 2012-13 was the Flight Department, consisting of Flight Director Laura Abraham and Flight Instructor Ryan Koch. |
Randolph-Macon Academy (R-MA), founded in 1892, is a college-preparatory, coeducational boarding school for students in grades 6 through 12. Students in grades 9-12 participate in R-MA’s 91st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC). R-MA is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is located in Front Royal, VA.
