Last night, the Yellow Jackets hosted Quantico in a non-conference game of basketball. With a two game win streak, the Jackets looked to sting early to extend the streak to three.
From the get go, the Jackets looked to capitalize on the mistakes of their opponent. Utilizing the 1-3-1 zone, the squad was able to get easy baskets in transition. If the ball bounced the wrong way, the two giants down low cleaned up.
In the first quarter, Sidique Thomas-Sualley '21 scored an amazing 12 points. J.J. Banek-Gabelle '21 also contributed with a three pointer. Joseph Flowers '21 netted four points while Nicolas Gaina '21 scored from the free-throw line.
The second quarter continued to be the Thomas-Sualley show, as he gathered six additional points. These were the only points of the quarter for both teams.
The third quarter was another slow quarter with the Jackets getting two points from both Thomas-Sualley and Banek-Gabelle.
The game finished with Quantico making a minor run, however, Thomas-Sualley (six more points), Flowers (four additional points), and Seth Yankey '22 (two points) ensured a victory for the Yellow Jackets.
The final score read "R-MA 42, Quantico 29."
