The Middle School soccer game this past Tuesday was a hard fought match against Wakefield School. The boys all got playing time and did well on the pitch.
The Yellow Jackets had a fast start and scored 21 seconds into the game. Sidique Thomas-Sualley ’21 made a quality pass to Joseph Flowers ‘21. Flowers beat one defender, then passed the ball to JJ Banek-Gabelle ‘21 for the right footed blast past the Wakefield goalkeeper.
R-MA held the lead for the next 20 minutes until Wakefield rallied and scored a very nice goal from 21 yards outside the box. Wakefield then added a second goal before the halftime break.
The second half was a real fight for the boys, but they managed to keep within one goal. With five minutes remaining, they started peppering their goal with shots. Their goalkeeper and defense were able to hold R-MA off until the final whistle with the final score being 2-1.
We are very proud of the hard work and effort the boys are putting into the season.
