Golf, Lacrosse, Baseball, and Softball All Compete Thursday 4/10

Golf:
On Thursday, April 10, the R-MA varsity golf team earned its first victory of the young season with a 199-211 win over Christ Chapel from Woodbridge. Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was senior Bill Choi who shot his second round of 46 this week. Sophomore Tommy Yu shot his best score of the season with a respectable 47. Freshman Joseph Silek also shot a low round of 51 with junior James Christoph adding a very respectable 55. R-MA hosts the Wakefield Country Day School and Trinity of Fairfax on Tuesday, April 15, at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club starting at 4:00.

Lacrosse:
Yesterday the Yellow Jackets had a game against cross-town rivals Wakefield Country Day School. The Jackets came out quickly and never looked back en route to a 13-3 victory.  Led by the Blair tandem, Peter scored three goals in the first few minutes of the competition and all were assisted by his brother, Brook.  Quickly after, Brook started putting points on the board and both finished with impressive stats on the day (Peter 4g-3a and Brook 3g-4a).  The rest of the team had a great showing, midfield threats Garret Cavanaugh and Nick Zavala each tallied 2 goals and Garret added an assist on the day.

The defense, anchored once again by Austin Lee and Fafa Eke-Spiff, had a solid day down low. Austin played solid defense on WCDS's number one offensive threat and held him to minimal points. Fafa played a very composed and calculated game forcing several turnovers in the midfield.

Once again, the entire bench had the opportunity to play and we finished the game with possession of the ball and much improved stick skills.  The Yellow Jackets next game will be Monday April 14th at 4:30 pm at Pope John Paul the Great.

Baseball:
Defeated Quantico 10 – 0. The Baseball team's next game will be Tuesday April 15th at 3:45 at Seton.

Softball:
The Lady Yellow Jackets fell to Quantico 14-1. They take on Foxcroft next on Monday April 14th at 4:30pm.
