Drill Team Earns First and Second Place Honors

On Saturday, January 28th, our drill team traveled to North Stafford High School for a drill meet and had a successful outing. There were five events and seven schools at the meet; R-MA cadets earned two first places and two second places.

Tajour Gadson ‘18 commanded the Inspection team as they were awarded first place. Members of the unit were Victoria Voellm ‘18, Ian Mounts ‘19, Nate Stewart ‘19, Tradarius Gadson ‘18, Taeho Joung ‘18, Jonathan Bunker ‘20, Grayson Galeone ‘18, Max Berman ‘18, and Ben Kopjanski ’20.

R-MA was also awarded first place in Unarmed Regulation and received not only a perfect score, but bonus points and earned 328 points out of 300. The flight was commanded by Yifei Peng ’17 and its members were Tajour Gadson ‘18, Victoria Voellm ‘18, Omar Bran ‘17, Yupei Mai ‘17, Jian Li ‘17, Delong Zeng ‘19, Fatoumata Diallo ‘19, Nate Stewart ‘19, and Gillian Rydholm ‘18.

Color Guard, commanded by Victoria Voellm ’18, received second place. The color guard members included Chenxi Lei ‘18, Shaui Gu ‘18, and Kaibing Yang ‘18.

The last event was the drill knock-out where 60 cadets filed in and executed any commands given to them by the commander. R-MA’s Taylor Wreath ’20 finished second place out of the 60 participants.

It was a great day for the Yellow Jackets and we could not be more proud!
