College Counseling Interview: Using the College Board Site

College Counseling Interview: Episode 5, Using the College Board Site

Master Sergeant Stephen Pederson, USAF Retired, talks about one of the ways he helps students in the junior class narrow down their college choices–through the use of the College Board web site.

College counseling at Randolph-Macon Academy is a collaborative effort between the full-time college counselor, the junior class Aerospace instructor, the junior class English teacher, the student, and the parent. The result of that collaborative approach is a 100% college acceptance rate and over $8.9 million in college scholarship offers for the class of 2014. Over the last eight years, the graduating classes have averaged $6.7 million in college scholarship offers.
