On Monday, December 7, the R-MA young Yellow Jackets came away with an impressive 28-7 win over Chelsea. The Jackets took the lead from the tip-off and never looked back. The starters got off to a fast start and the Jackets led 18-0 at the end of the first quarter. The second unit played the second quarter and at halftime R-MA was ahead 20-2. During the third quarter the third unit scored four points and led 24-2 after three periods. The third unit played the entire fourth quarter and the final score was 28-7.
Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was eighth-grader John Clark with 8 points. Eighth-graders Jonathan Bunker scored 6, David Deng scored 4, and Michael Sumner, Daggm Mekonnen, and Deigo Leiva each scored 2. Seventh-graders Sidique Thomas-Sualley and Manny Uzoma tallied for 2 points each.
With this win the young Yellow Jackets are now 2-0.
