A Successful Saturday for Alumni Lacrosse Game

On Saturday, May 7, R-MA hosted the first annual lacrosse alumni game. A total of 15 alumni and one former coach, Dave Gillis, made the trip back to Front Royal to participate in the event. The day started with recognizing the current seniors and their families. The first game featured alumni vs current players with the alumni squeaking out a victory in overtime. The second game involved mixing the players together. It was an opportunity for current senior Peter Blair to reunite with his brother, Brook Blair, on the field. Following the games, everyone was invited to a cookout at the middle school pavilion. All the alumni were recognized for their contributions to the lacrosse program.

Coach Ballard would like to give a special thanks to the following people for making the day possible. Frank Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. Branham, Mr. and Mrs. Long, Heather Grossman and all of the members of the Parent's Association, Kitty Abell  and the alumni association for their donations, and all the other lacrosse families that helped out or came to support everyone on Saturday. A special thanks to the alumni and we look forward to seeing you all next year.
