3 Ways Our Boarding School Creates a Structured Learning Environment For Your Child

Grade school years are a time of exploration, creativity, social interaction, and personal growth. All of these are happening simultaneously while students are trying to prepare for the next big chapter of their lives at university. Choosing the right environment for your child to attend school is imperative to ensure they get the most out of every aspect of their school lives.

Randolph-Macon Academy focuses on developing the leaders of tomorrow and helping students reach their full potential. Teaching our students fundamental values and lifelong habits that they can use throughout their academic journey is a commitment our faculty and staff are eager to uphold. Read on to learn more about how our private academy creates a structured learning environment for every student.

Consistent Planning for Your Child’s Academic Future

A structured learning environment starts with keeping an eye on the future. When students begin to understand that their commitments, efforts, and goals of today will impact the goals of their future, they start to build the foundation of a successful academic experience. Instructors at R-MA enjoy meeting every student where they are, and giving them the attention they need to reach their full potential from Middle School through to High School.

Starting in Grade 9, R-MA students benefit from personalized college counseling, a comprehensive College Readiness Program, college visits, college fairs, and more. All of these offerings work to guide them in the college application process, helping them to realize their passions, interests, and goals for their academic future. Opening our students’ eyes to the possibilities that lie ahead helps keep them accountable and motivated to succeed.

Students Learn Structure at Our Boarding School Through Extracurriculars

Students are not only receiving a structured learning environment in the classroom but also out in the community that surrounds our boarding school. Students will often participate in community projects that collaborate with other organizations, such as The Unmanned Systems Lab students working with the police department and agricultural companies to survey the land and point out areas that need upgrading.

Students are able to participate in extracurriculars to learn about their community and achieve personal growth

Additionally, more than 8,000 hours of community service are completed by R-MA students each year. Students learn by engaging with their community, sharing stories with others, and learning about people of different backgrounds. This helps every student achieve a level of personal development that never ceases to impress our faculty and staff.

Lifelong Habits Your Child Will Use Inside and Outside of the Classroom

At our private middle school, we are committed to preparing students to exceed all expectations when it comes to academic and personal success. We foster creativity, collaboration, discipline, and other lifelong habits through our curriculum, as well as through extracurriculars. This allows students to explore their strengths as they discover themselves and the world around them.

Students form lifelong habits at our private middle school through valuable shared experiences with their peers

Forming these lifelong habits helps establish an excellent foundation for high school and beyond. These habits are further supported by the Honor Code at R-MA, which is based upon three core beliefs: honesty, trust, and mutual respect. When the students begin to understand the importance of these values inside and out of the classroom through shared experiences, they will begin to see the benefits of their hard work. Every student deserves access to an educational experience that will teach them kindness, hard work, and discipline, and R-MA is proud to support every student in their journey to success.
