Meals & Transportation

At Thanksgiving time, students and their parents eat a traditional meal together before departing for break. Day and boarding students at R-MA Middle School enjoy lunch together.

At R-MA, the cost of the student's lunch is included in the tuition.  In July 2015, R-MA partnered with SAGE Dining Services, a leading provider of campus dining services. A balanced menu is offered daily, with healthy choices encouraged. Menu items containing meat are labeled for those students who wish to abstain from certain or all meats.  Milk, fruit juice and water are available to drink. SAGE is a nut-free provider.

Lunch is eaten at round tables with open seating and is a time for both eating and socializing. After finishing the lunch meal, students may chat with friends or visit the school library or gym (when open).

For an additional cost, day students may also participate in the dinner meal.  This may be on an as-needed basis, or daily, and may be arranged through the main office at 540-636-5480.

Parents must make arrangements to drop off their child in the morning and pick him or her up in the evening.  However, R-MA currently provides transportation to and from Winchester, Virginia and Haymarket, Virginia for day students who live in or near those areas.  The van picks up students at a central location, which varies from year to year.  There is a fee for this service, and it must be paid by semester.  Information about the van is available by emailing Chief of Services, Don Williams.
